Christmas Tree Ship
The annual Christmas Tree Ship will take place at the Erie Maritime Museum, 150 E. Front Street, on Saturday, December 9. The event is from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with Santa and his live reindeer lighting the U.S. Brig Niagara at 5:45 p.m. This free event is a favorite of families in and around Erie. Come and enjoy an evening of crafts, carolers, hot cocoa, snacks, and much more.
Sugar Plum Tea Party
Join Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and other friends for the Sugar Plum Tea Party on Sunday, December 10 at Romolo Chocolates, 1525 West 8th Street. Take pictures with the Nutcracker cast from the Lake Erie Ballet, enjoy hot chocolate, Romolo sugar plums, and Plumberry tea. You can also win a chance to present flowers to the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Queen of Snow on stage. Tickets are $25.
Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland at Asbury Woods Nature Center, 4105 Asbury Road, is open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. December 15 – 17 and December 27-30. The boardwalk trail is lit up with winter lights and unique displays. Children under three are free and all others are only $6 per person. In addition to the beautiful lights and displays, your family can enjoy live performances by local artists, storytelling, and children’s crafts. You can shop for unique Christmas gifts at the Squeaky Frog Gift Shop. Refreshments are also available for purchase. Proceeds from the event benefit the center so it can continue educating students in Erie County and the surrounding area.
Donuts with Santa
Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy a visit with Santa at that Erie Vet Center, 240 West 11th Street, on Saturday, December 16 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. You can tour the Erie Vet Center and learn more about the services offered to Veterans and their families. Light refreshments are provided during the event. Call 814-453-7955 for more information.
Holiday Storytime
On Saturday, December 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Blasco Memorial Library, 160 East Front Street, will host a Holiday Storytime. There will be singing, dancing, and a puppet show in addition to information about holiday books your children can enjoy. Register in advance for the chance to decorate sugar cookies.
