According to a report by GoErie, a motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident last week in the 2500 block of State Street. The driver of a Cadillac De Ville was turning left onto State Street when he struck the motorcyclist traveling north. The motorcyclist was thrown from his Harley-Davidson Sportster upon impact. The Cadillac’s driver left the scene of the accident, but law enforcement officers were able to apprehend him by following clues at the accident scene. The rider was transported to the hospital by EmergyCare with unknown injuries.
It appears that the driver of the Cadillac has been booked and charged with several crimes including driving with a suspended license, driving with no insurance, and failure to notify police of an accident. At the time of the news story, he was being held in the Erie County Prison on a $25,000 bond.
When you are injured in a personal injury accident, your medical records will become a very important piece of evidence in your accident claim. Regardless of whether you are hurt in a traffic accident or slip and fall or the injury was caused by a defective product, you will need to submit medical records to the insurance company to substantiate your injury claim. However, you must be very careful when submitting your medical records because your records could contain red flags that could impact the amount of compensation you receive for your claim.
Now that it is Fall in Pennsylvania, the weather will begin to get cooler. Even though we are not facing ice and snow yet, we will soon enough. Until then, we still deal with slick roads because of rain. When poor road conditions cause an accident, is anyone responsible? Can you sue another driver or other party? The answer depends on the circumstances of your case.
Suing A Government Agency for Hazardous Road Conditions

Pennsylvania has adopted a zero tolerance for drugged driving and buzzed driving. Many drivers understand that our state has severe penalties for drunk driving. However, drivers may not understand that the state also takes a very tough stance against driving under the influence of drugs (DUID).
Pennsylvania’s zero tolerance for DUID means that if you have any amount of a drug in your system that can impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle, you can be charged with DUID. Furthermore, the police officer does not need to conduct a chemical test to arrest you for driving under the influence of drugs. If the officer has a reasonable suspicion you are under the influence of drugs, that suspicion is enough for the arrest. Something as simple as your conduct or the odor of marijuana in a vehicle can result in a DUID arrest.
Because the consequences of a drugged driving arrest can be very costly, it is in your best interest to contact an Edinboro drugged driving attorney immediately. Call (800) 401-2066 to schedule a free legal consultation with one of our Erie criminal defense attorneys.
Traffic accidents can result in minor property damage to your vehicle or minor bumps and bruises that heal in a few days. Date rape is a problem on many college campuses throughout Pennsylvania and the United States. It is a crime that must and should be aggressively prosecuted and punished. No one should be forced to have sexual relations or have sexual encounters when they are impaired by drugs or alcohol.
With that said, you can be falsely accused of date rape. A person becomes angry at another person for ending a relationship or refusing romantic advances claims to be sexually assaulted as revenge. In some cases, a person could be sexually assaulted but name the wrong person because the victim was impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the assault.
Whatever the reason for the false accusation, it is crucial that the person accused seek immediate legal advice from an experienced Edinboro criminal defense attorney.
Hurricane Harvey slammed into Texas leaving a path of devastation in its wake. However, some of the worst damage and the most dangerous conditions were caused by flooding. Flooding and storm debris made it impossible for residents and rescue workers to traverse city streets in Houston.
While we do not see the impact of a hurricane in our area, we do have storms that can cause severe damage. When a storm causes damage, it can create road hazards that increase the risk of injury or traffic accidents. Avoiding these road hazards can help you decrease your chance of a traffic accident after a severe storm.
