Motorcycle Safety Tips
You cannot control the actions of other drivers, but you can take steps to reduce the risk of being injured in a Pennsylvania motorcycle accident. Remember, intersections are extremely dangerous for motorcyclists because other drivers will turn left in front of riders without a second thought. Some drivers are simply not paying enough attention while others don’t even notice motorcycles on the road with them.
Be cautious when approaching intersections and look for signs a driver may pull out in front of you. In addition to offering tips for avoiding accidents caused by drivers turning left in front of you, Ride Apart offers tips for avoiding common motorcycle accidents.
Before heading out on a motorcycle ride, inspect your bike to make sure that all components are in good working order. A well-maintained motorcycle can reduce your risk of being involved in a motorcycle accident. When you are riding, limit distractions. It may be tempting to turn up the music or use your cell phone; however, remaining alert can mean the difference between a tragic accident and a close call.
