Erie PA DUI Case Against Police Officer Continues

Gabriel-Carducci-DUI-chargesThe case involving an Erie PA police officer that was charged with drunk driving and crashing into a city fire truck has moved forward. Erie police officer, Gabriel Carducci, remains on leave as his court cases alleging that he drove drunk crashing into a fire truck while off duty continues. The 28-year-old rookie is charged with a DUI.

At the time of the crash Carducci was on administrative leave because of an off-duty incident that was investigated but District Judge Dominick DiPaolo has waived all charges against him. The current charges included DUI, careless driving and crashing into an emergency vehicle while its safety lights were flashing.

The Erie police had reported that, around 5am on Thanksgiving morning, Carducci hit the fire engine as it was backing into the fire station. They also added that the fire truck had it’s emergency lights on. It was reported that the crash created thousands of dollars in damages to the fire truck.

Police on the scene reported that Carducci failed three field sobriety tests and in the complaint it stated that his blood alcohol limit was a .16 which is twice the legal limit of .08 in the state of PA.

It is not know if Carducci will lose his job as a police officer if criminal charges are filed against him. He could go through rehabilitation and potentially keep his job.
